About the
projet

The IFSEA University Research School (Transdisciplinary graduate school for marIne, Fisheries and SEAfood sciences), supported by ULCO and its partners (Université d'Artois, CNRS, IFREMER, ANSES, AQUIMER, Communauté d'Agglomération du Boulonnais), aims to meet the environmental, societal and economic challenges facing the seafood sector. Its 4 strands (research, training, internationalisation and socio-economic partnership) bring together research forces and socio-economic partners in a holistic, cross-disciplinary approach around 4 complementary themes covering the entire seafood products industry and associated marine sciences:

1. Marine ecosystems, from biodiversity to the sustainability of living resources,
2. Seafood safety and quality,
3. supply chain engineering and international trade,
4. governance and coastal development policies.

Launched in 2022 for a period of 10 years, with a total budget of €30 million, including more than €8 million in state subsidies managed by the Agence Nationale de la Recherche under the France 2030 plan, bearing the reference "ANR-21-EXES-0011", EUR IFSEA is a resolutely unifying project designed to make the Hauts-de-France region a showcase for excellence in research and training entirely dedicated to seafood, fishing, aquaculture and, more generally, associated marine sciences.
