What is your business activity?

The National Committee for Sea Fisheries and Marine Farming (CNPMEM) is a professional body under private law in charge of public service missions.
Gathering all professional fishermen and marine fish farmers, it represents and defends their general interests with the national and community public authorities. It participates, among other things, in the management of fishery resources within the framework of responsible fishing and sustainable development.

Who are your products/services intended for?

The CNPMEM is part of a network of fisheries committees established in the regions, departments as well as in the DOM.
It intervenes in several areas: economic, environmental, social (training and safety), for the benefit of its members, i.e. all the managers of fishing and marine aquaculture companies and their employees.

Why are innovation and research important in your sector of activity?

Among its missions, such as the promotion of the jobs of fishermen and fish farmers, the recognition of know-how, respect for sustainable and responsible fishing, innovation in fishing techniques, measures to protect biodiversity, and knowledge of the environment (water quality, among others) is essential. The partnership with AQUIMER, which has been in place for many years, allows the teams to work together on issues that concern the entire sector.
