BLUEACT: Blue Growth Cities in Action

BluAct is a network of European port cities aiming to share good practices in entrepreneurship in the blue economy. The project is funded under URBACT, the European exchange and learning programme which helps cities develop sustainable and pragmatic solutions, integrating economic, social and environmental urban issues.

This territorial cooperation project was launched in June 2021 and will run until the 31st of December 2022 with a budget of € 90,000.

The Development Agency of Boulogne-sur-Mer (BDCO) is the French partner of BLUEACT and will implement a strategy for a sustainable development of the area of Boulogne sur mer, in collaboration with NAUSICAA. The other partner port cities of this project are: Piraeus (Greece), Liepaja (Latvia), Gdansk (Poland), Koper (Slovenia).

Among other key actors of the Blue economy in Boulogne sur mer, AQUIMER was called upon to contribute to different phases of the project. The first meeting of French stakeholders was on the 12 of October to discuss about the design of a roadmap for the territory development.

This project is a good opportunity for key players of this urban area to meet and discuss about priorities for the development of the blue sector.
