3 questions to Nicolas Vieville from Aquaponic Management Project

Every month, discover our members in 3 questions! This month, Nicolas Vieville from Aquaponic Management Project answers our questions.

What is your business activity?

Founded in 2013 in Paris by Pascal Goumain, the AMP group (Aquaponic Management Project) raises, transforms and distributes top-of-the-range and sustainable aquaculture products to a clientele of professionals and individuals.

With its expertise in responsible aquaculture and its unique position in France (Cherbourg, Suisse Normande, IDF and Région Centre) AMP promotes, develops, installs and operates aquaponic systems in urban, suburban and rural areas.

Capable of producing biomass (plant and animal) without recourse to phytosanitary products, respectful of water resources and nature, Aquaponie responds to the food challenges of our time and provides concrete support for the agricultural transition.

Who are your products/services intended for?

Our production is aimed at two types of clientele. On the one hand, the private individuals that we address (with fresh products or products processed by us in our artisanal smoking workshop) through our shops and our website and, on the other hand, a clientele of professionals such as fresh produce wholesalers or well-known quality smoking companies.

Why is innovation and research important in your sector?

R&D is an integral part of the AMP Group's DNA. Convinced that the depletion of natural resources (fish and water), the search for healthy products with full traceability and respectful farming methods are the future of aquaculture, we conduct research in all these areas to develop unique know-how.

From our urban farms (Asnières and Cherbourg) where we conduct research on closed circuits (probes, filtration, energy consumption), to the cultivation without inputs and the cultivation methods best suited to aquaponics (hydroponics technique) or research on Indoor agriculture (project conducted in Switzerland in subsoil) and the integration of myciculture in closed circuits or algae culture (integrated multi-trophic aquaculture), we conduct a great deal of research on all these subjects. Aquimer is, in this context, a key player whose action enables us in many cases to progress more rapidly.
