Each month, find out more about our members in 3 questions! This month, David Vandewalle from Lycée de Coulogne answers our questions.

What is your area of business?

The Lycée de Coulogne is an agricultural school whose vocation is to train students from the 4th grade to the BTS.

Our training courses are specific, they train for the environment, landscape, horticulture, aquaculture and animal husbandry.

We also want to convey a "green" image through our school. The school is committed to transmitting ecological values: permaculture, eco-grazing, swallow nests, zero phyto, use of a recirculating circuit in aquaculture, insect hotels, beehives, mobile greenhouses to preserve the soil, etc.

Who are your products/services aimed at?

The Lycée de Coulogne offers training to all learners wishing to learn about jobs related to the environment in the broadest sense.

The students carry out practical work for their know-how: flower and vegetable production, fish production. These productions are sold within the establishment every Friday and on the occasion of the open days, allow to value the work of the pupils. The school is known and recognized. Families, students, staff, town halls and many individuals come to buy the products sold at the Lycée de Coulogne (pond fish, aquarium fish, seasonal vegetables, vegetable plants, etc.).

Why are innovation and research important in your business?

The school has to be attentive to innovation in order to train its students so that they acquire new techniques and tools .... for their future work.

The Lycée de Coulogne is integrated into the professional fabric: CRC, Syndicat des Piscicultuers (Fish Farmer Union), Innovation Nouvelles Vagues and Aquimer for aquaculture. This collaboration allows the school to be integrated into certain R&D programs. For example, we are currently involved in oyster grow-out trials in the North Sea.
