Back to the workshop "From the shell... to the scale: value chain of the valorization of sea products and co-products".
AQUIMER has responded to the invitation of the 14th edition of ITECHMER 2021, international meeting of professionals in the fisheries sector, which took place in Lorient (56) from 6 to 8 October 2021.
It is around a red thread "Let's build the future of the sea sector" that were registered in particular workshops on 3 consecutive days, those of Thursday, October 7 aimed to highlight "a sector in full transition".
One of the major concerns of the aquatic products sector being the valorization of products and co-products of the sea, AQUIMER organized an interactive workshop named:
"From shell... to scale: value chain of the valorization of sea products and co-products"
Invited by Gisèle LE PAGE, AQUIMER Project Manager, the professionals met to exchange around a round table.
During this workshop, the public was able to discover the general context of this valorization, but also the processes and the regulations which frame it... and this, in a concrete way around diversified examples of projects of valorization of products and co-products:
- NATUREPLAST (14): design of innovative solutions of biosourced materials/bioplastics
- MUSSELLA (56): valorization of small size mussels presented by Axel BRIÈRE
- SCALE (64): example of an integral circular economy: development of 100% biobased material from fish scales
To build a "project-team" in line with the needs, this is the support offered by several structures acting as real toolboxes for project leaders, to facilitate and secure the innovation process:
- IDMER: Research & Development platform presented by Cécile VAUCHEZ
- Valérie COEURET • Consultant for "sea products”.
- AQUIMER: only national competitiveness cluster for the valorization of aquatic products, presented by Gisèle LE PAGE
A great deal of food for discussion with the participants around numerous questions and answers... to inspire and open up the field of possibilities that the ocean offers us!
