Meeting of the French EATIP mirror platform

The 2nd EATIP mirror platform meeting organised by AQUIMER on November 7th, 2019 was hosted by the France’s National Committee on Marine Fisheries and Aquaculture on its premises in Paris.

Being responsible for representing the French aquaculture sector in EATIP, AQUIMER presented EATIP activities’ progress and asked for inputs from the French sector in order to better represent its interests at the EU level through EATIP’s activities.

This second day was also the occasion to report on Aquaculture Europe 2019. The focus was on the key trends and issues addressed at the event, the EATIP Position Paper which was presented to the EU in Berlin, the Copernicus workshops and upcoming funding opportunities for the sector.

In the afternoon Henning Lebius from CEA presented KETMaritime, an Interreg Atlantic Area project on KET technologies for the maritime industry. Jorge Alexandre Vieira from UNDERSEE et Charlotte Dupont from BIOCEANOR made meaningful presentations illustrating their application of KET technologies in the aquaculture sector.
