About the project
Project activities focus on strategies for a gradual elimination of discards in European fisheries.
These aspects are integrated into Discard Reduction Strategies offering cost-effective solutions at all stages of the seafood supply chain. The first objective is to eliminate unwanted catches (research on modification to fishing gear and fishing strategies), the second is to make the best possible use of unavoidable unwanted catches (research on controls, traceability, and product valorization).
