Professional trade unionsThe Regional Committee for Marine Fisheries and for marine farming was created to advocate for the professional fishermen’s interests. The committee represents them for various subjects : environment, economy, social needs.
The CPMREM Nord Pas-de-Calais – Picardy brings together all the professional fishermen on board and on foot who live from the French-Belgian border to the Baie de Somme: more than 840 sailors on board and more than 350 fishermen on foot. The production activities also include the marine farms of this area, they are mainly represented by the AQUANORD farm which produces sea bass and sea bream, as well as the Gravelines marine hatchery producing sea bass eggs, larvae and fry. Its mission is to:
- Participate in the organization of a sustainable and responsible management of fisheries resources.
- Set up projects to carry out economic and social actions in favour of the professions concerned to improve production conditions.
- Defending the interests of professionals in the face of the development of new uses and management methods of the sea
Promote the sea fishing and marine breeding sector.
