The first call for projects of Horizon Europe has been launched - Focus on cluster 6

On June 15, 2021 the EU launched the first call for projects of Horizon Europe, the new research and innovation program that succeeds Horizon 2020.

During the first 10 days of July, the EU organized a series of information days for researchers, innovators and potential applicants. AQUIMER participated on July 7 and 8 in the days dedicated to the 2021-2024 work program for cluster 6 "Food, bioeconomy, natural resources, agriculture and environment".

The speakers underlined the central role of Cluster 6 for the expected impacts in the EU economy, ecology and society as well as for the correct implementation of key EU policies such as "Green Pact", "Farm to Table" and "Biodiversity for 2030", "Food2030".

The former BBI partnership has been confirmed in connection with cluster 6 with the name "Circular Bio-based Europe (CBE)". Other candidate partnerships are currently being negotiated for validation.

Among the most remarkable new elements of information:

  • 1) the page limit for RIAs and IAs is reduced to 45 and for CSAs to 30;
  • 2) the consortium of partners for RIA and IA is eligible not only if composed by 3 partners from 3 different countries, but at least 1 must be based in a member country
  • 3) associated countries cannot participate in CSA unless clearly indicated in the theme statement
  • 4) Switzerland is currently not considered an associated country and the United Kingdom becomes an associated country
  • 5) International collaboration is particularly encouraged in Horizon Europe and especially within cluster 6 where it is expressly indicated in 32 themes.

On July 9, AQUIMER also participated in the networking day for the first call for projects with its deadline on October 6, 2021. More than 2000 European sector players are registered on the networking platform, do not hesitate to contact us if you are looking to join a consortium or are looking for a specific partner.
