BBI JU INFODAY: Networking and a day of information online
The 7th BBI JU Information Day took place on 22 April 2020 as a virtual event due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Philippe Mengal, Executive Director of BBI JU, highlighted record interest reached with more than 2000 registrations on the BBI JU platform and more than 1000 B2B meetings organized. In addition, the B2B meetings have been extended by two days in order to increase online networking opportunities, on 22 and 23 April and 12 May.
The evaluation of the impact of the BBI JU 2014-2020 programme was presented with the illustration of great progress made in a few years. Among the results achieved, we find a better knowledge of bio-based products, an increase in investments in innovative production processes for bio-based products and an increase in bio-based products, which are more efficient and sold at similar prices to fossil fuel-based products.
In conclusion, we can say that more and more companies from different sectors (automotive, health, textile, fashion, furniture, food and beverages, and many others) are participating in the development of the European bio-based products industry. Members: to discover the new funding themes for the year 2020, please do not hesitate to participate in the AQUIMER meeting of May 5th.
