France Filière Pêche is an inter-branch association, bringing together all the actors from the French fisheries sectors : producers (fishermen), merchants (fishmongers and hypermarkets / supermarkets), wholesalers…
Faced with the important economic, ecological and food stakes of the French sea fishing industry, all the actors of the sector decided to act by creating in 2010 the France Filière Pêche Association. One will: to work together in the long term in favour of the production and marketing of French maritime resources. France Filière Pêche has brought together all the links of the sector to organize the framework of sectoral solidarity and to ensure the implementation of effective actions. This inter-professional association therefore brings together producers, fish wholesalers, wholesalers, processors, supermarkets and retail fish merchants in France.
From the outset, France Filière Pêche has set precise objectives to meet its ambitions:
- to develop more sustainable and responsible fishing by supporting and promoting practices designed to improve the competitiveness of fishing enterprises while contributing to the preservation of fishery resources and the marine ecosystem;
- to encourage the marketing of French fishery products and enhance their value in order to encourage their consumption by the general public: this objective led in particular to the creation in 2012 of the Pavillon France brand, which guarantees that consumers can enjoy the diversity of French fisheries in complete confidence.
